OVERVIEW

Bacon Wilson, P.C., one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in Western Massachusetts, is seeking a full-time Attorney to join our team in Northampton/Springfield. We are seeing a highly motivated team player with up to 5 years of experience and the desire to zealously represent our clients in our litigation department.

This position presents the right candidate the opportunity to practice, learn and grow professionally in a collaborative environment with a collegial and skilled group of lawyers, paralegals and staff. Litigation associates are empowered to manage their own caseload, have client contact, and regularly appear in court on substantive motions, hearings and trials.

Key Responsibilities

Report directly to the Litigation Department Chair. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Consult with clients to ascertain details and merits of each case.
• Conduct research using legislation, case law, and other legal texts as sources to decide on a modus operandi.
• Draft legal texts, including reports, contracts and appeals.
• Representing clients at meetings, hearing and trials.
• Inform Department Chair about salient developments in case matters.
• Ensure client data obtained during interactions remain confidential and are stored securely. 
• Remain current and abreast of changes to all legislation as it relates to our area of law.
• Accurately report time and hours spent on each matter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Accredited Law degree.
• MA Bar admission is required. Admission to the CT Bar is preferred but not required.
• Exhibit familiarity with all subspecialties of their field and utilize knowledge to successfully conclude cases.
• Demonstrate outstanding research skills.
• Perceptive and meticulous, with a thorough understanding of human behavior.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Capacity to regulate and perform under stress.

COMPENSATION

• $80,000 - $95,000 annual salary (Salary is commensurate with experience)
• Annual Bonus: based on performance

LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

• In-person, Northampton/Springfield office

• Monday to Friday
